With curiosity, Uwe Heiss called Jesse Hoover one day. What was to be a “quick call” turned into a friendship and an extended conversation. The healthcare entrepreneur and the practitioner of traditional medicine found that they shared the common goals of empowering people through technology and the application of cutting-edge medical perspectives. Uwe invited Jesse be his partner in the launch of erbcare, a herbal telemedicine site that Uwe had been developig and beta testing.

Jesse Hoover has been licensed and practicing as a Doctor of Oriental Medicine since 2007. His path began with a personal illness that was outside the scope of standard medical treatment. However, this challenging experience created a committment to others and led to a career in medicine. His passion for both Western science and Eastern natural philosophy had him seeking better answers to challenging health concerns. After five years of study, through an Oriental medical school, an advanced apprenticeship and a hospital internship, Jesse began practicing in earnest by providing care to remote, Northern New Mexico Hispanic and Native American communities. Since that time, he has practiced, studied, worked with people from different walks of life, and taught students of Oriental medicine as an instructor and clinical supervisor. Jesse participates in the national conversation on wellness by contributing to the Journal of Health and Human Experience, which is associated with the Wounded Warriors Project.

Uwe Heiss has created startups that empower millions of patients and were covered by TIME Health, CBS, New York Times, Forbes Magazine, etc. His healthcare innovations repeatedly receive grant funding from the National Institutes of Health. For example, Uwe is the co-founder of Birdhouse for Autism, which uses technology to help parents of children on the Austism Spectrum track physical and mental health factors central to their children’s wellness and care. Uwe’s vision for erbcare is to provide personalized care that integrates the best of technology with personal warmth and skill. At erbcare Uwe is focused on creating a seamless integration of erbcare with conventional medical care, and he is pursuing erbcare as a core element of future employee wellness programs. What he loves about erbcare is that it is rooted in science, ancient wisdom, modern technology, plants and community.
